Our People

people_sittingThe NC Watershed Stewardship Network is a collaborative partnership. Its strength comes from its members and the valuable knowledge and experiences they bring to the network. Our Steering Committee is guiding organizational development and strategic planning. We seek diversity in representation on the Committee, and would value participation from people representing business, civic service groups, and  underserved or under represented communities. We also seek representation from across North Carolina. Participation in subcommittees is open to anyone who is interested. These are listed below.

Please contact us if you are interested in serving on the Steering Committee or a subcommittee.

We welcome you to join us here on our website and join the conversation via social media. New opportunities will arrive to participate at many levels.

Working Committees

Steering Committee and Coordinators

The Steering Committee is a group of people with responsibility for moving WSN forward. They meet 2-3 times per year across the state, and welcome local watershed groups to join the discussions.

Outreach and Education Work group

The Outreach and Education work group is working towards the vision “Imagine all NC residents understand the high value of NC waters. What are they doing differently?” They are currently working in two groups to explore available resources and opportunities for K-12 educators and adult audiences, and to identify opportunities to create connections and products that can help watershed stewards use these resources in their own communities.  Meet our Outreach education work group!

Education and Training Work group

The Education and Training committee responds to needs identified in the needs assessment and input from watershed stakeholders, and works with collaborators to develop and promote training opportunities. The committee will incorporate trainings into existing conferences and venues and will seek funding to develop new educational materials and training opportunities.

Web Tools Work group

The Web Tools committee is responsible for WSN website design, web-mapping tools, and the database that drives them. The committee is responsible for the look and feel of end content deliverables from other committees.

Join Us and receive periodic updates about the WSN. We are growing fast and this is the easiest way to keep up with the changes and opportunities.
